Our client is a family-owned food manufacturing business with a large presence here in Leicester and a turnover exceeding £1 billion.

The Role:

As a Project Manager, you will oversee a variety of projects from small-scale installations to large-scale site developments.

This role will involve managing projects from cradle to grave, ensuring you are complying with all regulations, managing budgets, and writing CapEx requests.

You will also be responsible for managing contractors, conducting risk assessments, and travel to suppliers for sourcing of equipment.

This role reports directly into the Engineering Manager and will see you being the lead on all projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from conception to completion (cradle to grave)
  • Maintain budget control and manage contractors coming on site
  • Write and present capital expenditure reports
  • Conduct PUWER assessments and manage tendering processes (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
  • Oversee projects including Civil works, Internal renovations all across the facility
  • New machinery installations
  • Ensure guidelines and regulations are adhered to
  • Conduct both pre-delivery inspections
  • Contractor control including risk assessments

What we're looking for in a candidate:

  • Previous engineering experience / background
  • A background in the food industry, or similar manufacturing environment
  • Project management experience
  • Prince 2, CI Experience or Lean Six Sigma qualifications (ideal)
  • Self-driven individual with confident communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently from the engineering manager
