Procurement/ Category Manager (Estates)| Leicestershire| £61,755Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with De Montfort University who are looking to appoint a Category Manager to lead their Estates Category.Procurement/ Category Manager (Estates) RemitThis is an exciting role to support the University in delivering its ambitious plans including the development and delivery of a new Estates Masterplan encompassing plans for a new Library and campus catering arrangements.You will be reporting into the Associate Director of Procurement (who reports into their CFO), working alongside two other dedicated Category Managers within IT and Professional Services as well as having the support of Officer and transactional level team members.In this role, you will lead stakeholder relationship management, supplier and contract management, and the development and implementation of supplier strategies. You will conduct comprehensive category analyses and develop tailored category strategies to optimise procurement outcomes. Additionally, you will manage tendering exercises from requirement development to contract award, ensuring processes adhere to procurement law and deliver value for money. Your proactive approach will drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, fostering collaboration and innovation across Faculties and Professional Services.Minimum Requirements:- Ideally estates specific experience (within either soft and hard FM) within a Procurement role at a comparable level however open to those with more of a generalist background- 2+ years Public sector procurement experience within the last 10 years at a comparable levelBenefits- Salary £61,755 per annum- Excellent pension - Local Government Pension Scheme - currently 24.4% employer contribution - Hybrid working - 2 days based on site at Bede House, 11 Western Blvd, Leicester, LE2 7EJ - flexibility to come in more if wanted- 42 days annual leave (including bank holiday) - with the ability to purchase additional days on top of this- Other benefits include: cycle to work, childcare vouchers and discounted access to DMU's facilities (including library, gym, swimming pool and other sports facilities)This Category Manager for Estates represents an excellent opportunity to join an organisation with ambitious plans for the coming years.If you are interested in exploring this great procurement opportunity and feel this could be a fit for you, please apply now with your CV.
