The roleThe Associate Director of Products is an exciting new leadership opportunity, working closely with Director of Technology Transformation, and in partnership with the wider leadership team to lead our journey towards a product-led, user-centric service model.

In this newly created role, you will get the opportunity to shape and direct the delivery and development of our digital product portfolio, building and enabling our product teams to work collaboratively to design, deliver and continually improve a sustainable and unified technology enabled experience for our students and staff.

As we embark on this product journey, you’ll be pivotal in leveraging your product knowledge and experience to set the strategy and direction for the product-led, transformation across the University, designing and delivering inclusive digital services to enable learning and teaching, research, and innovation, with a keen focus on continuously improving the student and staff experiences.Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to bring their enthusiasm and track record for delivering cutting edge, memorable digital customer experiences that align to the University’s ambitious strategy and goals.

About you

  • A background in strategic digital leadership, creating emdigital products and services to transform customer experience.
  • Experience of leading high performing multi-disciplinary digital teams through change and transformation initiatives.
  • Extensive experience of adapting services to meet customer’s needs and identifying ways of improving standards.
  • Significant experience in user-centred service design practices and methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience of driving and championing new ways of working at scale across multiple products and services
  • Extensive experience of working collaboratively with Senior Leadership colleagues and managing change across technology and non-technology stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organisation, whether non-technical or technical
  • An understanding of the complexities of working within a Higher Education environment is desirable but not essential.
