Are you a motivated, passionate Health Care or Support Worker looking for a new challenge?

Oakleaf are currently looking for motivated and committed Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers to join the team at our 22-bed learning disability service based in Leicester.

Marston Court provides 24-hour care for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and well-supported team. This is an extremely busy service, and we are looking for candidates that thrive on a busy workload and are able to act calm under pressure.

Ideal candidates will have experience of working in a similar healthcare setting, although this is not essential. What is essential is that you share our values in delivering high quality care; we are currently inviting applications from people keen to move into the Care sector.

Main duties of the role:

  • Ensure that service user rights are protected.
  • Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health, and safety of service users always.
  • Assist service users individually as required to support them with daily routines and activities.
  • Observing service users ensuring a safe environment, protecting them from harm.
  • Encourage a model of self-care and service user rehabilitation.
  • Systematically solve day-to-day basic problematic issues which arise.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams so as to maximise opportunities for service user therapeutic care.
  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
  • If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • In addition to these tasks, employees may at times be asked to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the service.

  • Calm-natured and patient even under pressure

  • Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults
