Job description

Are you a motivated, passionate Health Care or Support Worker looking for a new challenge?

Oakleaf are currently looking for a motivated and committed Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker to join the team at our 4-bed learning disability services based in LE5, adjacent to each other. 12 hour Shifts 7:45am - 8:15pm, 40 hours per week, alternate weekends.

Mere and Spinney Lodge specialise in providing high quality residential care to meet the assessed needs of adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, complex needs, autism and associated challenging behaviours.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and well-supported team. Ideal candidates will have experience of working in a similar healthcare setting.

Main duties of the role:

  • Ensure that service user rights are protected.
  • Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health, and safety of service users always.
  • Assist service users individually as required to support them with daily routines and activities.
  • Observing service users ensuring a safe environment, protecting them from harm.
  • Encourage a model of self-care and service user rehabilitation.
  • Systematically solve day-to-day basic problematic issues which arise.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams so as to maximise opportunities for service user therapeutic care.
  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
  • If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • In addition to these tasks, employees may at times be asked to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the service.

  • Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults
