- To show an understanding of resident’s needs.
- To encourage residents to achieve maximum independence (by assisting residents to meet their own needs, whenever possible).
- To attend to personal hygiene needs, e.g. bathing, hair care, visits to the toilet, including the use and emptying of commodes, dealing with incontinence and emptying catheter bags.
- To give assistance to all residents as needed, especially help with walking, feeding and dressing.
- To administer first aid when necessary.
- To serve meals and drinks; ensure special diets are given to the appropriate resident.
