Job Title: SEN Teacher Speech and Language Specialist.Location: Leicester City Centre.Salary: MPS / UPS.Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary, 12 months.Start Date: As soon as possible.About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced specialist SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialist intervention support to students aged 11-16 with speech and language difficulties. This role involves travelling to different schools and occasionally to students' homes across the City of Leicester. You will be supporting students in functional skills and encouraging their social development. Students have varying ASD needs, and all have EHCPs to help achieve their goals.Day-to-day, you will work with school staff and students, providing advice to support the students and their needs. You will assess, advise, monitor, evaluate, and support with teaching as well as delivering training for special needs.Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with students with autism to understand their strengths and development areas.
- Work with the school to assist in the development and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs as per their EHCP.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the progress of the students.
- Conduct various assessments and monitor student progress regularly, adjusting interventions and plans as necessary.
- Deliver training and support to school staff on speech and language strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and interventions.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential to be considered.
- Specialisation in Speech and Language Therapy is essential.
- Relevant SEN qualification is desirable.
- Extensive experience working with students with SEN, preferably those with communication difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to travel to various locations across the city; a valid driving licence is essential.
- Passion for supporting students with special educational needs and a commitment to their development.
