Our client, a market-leading innovator and manufacturer of world-class mobility access and emergency stairway evacuation products is looking for a CAD Designer to join their team.

The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models, design specifications and product collateral for various projects. This role requires strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a small R&D team and with other colleagues/stakeholders.

The responsibilities of the CAD Designer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop precise 3D CAD drawings and models based on project requirements.
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and product designers to create technical drawings.
  • Modify and update existing drawings to reflect design changes or client feedback.
  • Support prototyping, testing and pre-production preparation.
  • Create marketing-leading product collateral and maintain organised records of all drawings and project documentation.

Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the CAD Designer:

  • Advanced SolidWorks sheet metal drafting.
  • SolidWorks composer.
  • DFMA and an understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design tools, as well as 3D printing experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.
