OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate various saws used in the fabrication of sheet metal products. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate saws for cutting sheet metal to specified dimensions.
- Grind and finish edges of cut materials as required.
- Use hand tools and equipment to assemble components accurately.
- Fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products, utilising basic maths skills for measurements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and tooling necessary for fabrication tasks.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A proactive approach towards safety in the workplace.
Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Rotating weekly shift pattern
- 7:30am to 4pm
- 11am to 7:30p m
