Job Purpose / Overview
Are you an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in telecommunications projects? Sizewell C (SZC) is seeking a Telecoms Construction Manager to play a critical role in delivering a world-class nuclear new build in Suffolk.

Principal Accountabilities
As Telecoms Construction Manager, you will oversee the delivery of vital telecoms infrastructure across the main development site, ensuring seamless integration of private radio networks, public mobile services, and fibre optic systems. This infrastructure is critical to supporting the wider construction of the nuclear power station, and you will play a key role in ensuring its successful deployment and operation.
This is a delivery-focused role, requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical expertise to ensure the successful completion of telecoms installations, quality assurance, and operational readiness.
* Lead on-site delivery of telecoms infrastructure, ensuring alignment with project milestones and budget.
* Oversee the installation and commissioning of private radio, fibre networks, and public mobile coverage solutions.
* Conduct quality assurance checks, taking on the role of Supervisor under NEC contracts.
* Act as the key liaison between telecoms providers such as Vodafone, BT, and private radio contractors.
* Monitor and resolve technical telecoms issues on-site, ensuring high operational performance.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid disruption to project timelines.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and health & safety standards.
* Coordinate with internal teams (Utilities, Design, Temporary Works, Consents, and Quality teams) to integrate telecoms infrastructure with the wider project.
* Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adaptation to site developments and unforeseen challenges.
* Be a visible presence on-site, with a minimum of three days per week at Sizewell C, increasing to five days as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in construction management within telecoms projects, covering fibre optics, private radio, and public mobile networks.
* Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
* Proven track record in quality assurance and site inspections within telecoms installations.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
* Experience in managing change control processes and risk mitigation in complex projects.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
Desirable:
* Experience working in high-compliance environments such as nuclear, energy, or regulated industries.
* Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in telecoms infrastructure.
* Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Qualifications:
* Essential: Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Essential: Minimum 10 years' experience in telecoms infrastructure delivery within large-scale projects.
* Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
* Desirable: Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
