We have an exciting opportunity for two Trainee Production Planners to join our team in Pembridge, Herefordshire, working 39 hours per week on a permanent contract.

As a Production Planner you will be assisting in creating and communicating production plans from MRP. You will take responsibility to ensure strict adherence to production schedules, and inter-departmental liaison will also be key to this role.

Responsibilities of our Production Planner 

  • Directing the required production plans and schedules in order to meet delivery and manufacturing requirements (within the agreed order lead times).
  • Analysing daily production reports and advise of anticipated output problems, such as OTIF shortages, equipment failures and possible order amendments/cancellations.
  • Expediting all operations that delay schedules and alter schedules, to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Reviewing and maintaining MRP to establish capacity lead times and production volumes in conjunction with sales forecasts and customer orders.
  • To control planning activities, within your levels of responsibility, ensuring that the department's workload is undertaken in an integrated, productive and synchronised manner.
  • To maintain appropriately responsive stock levels; ones that meet the criteria set out in the Service Level Agreement.
  • Continuously asses your responsibilities; to identify opportunities to make improvements and to implement these when needed.

You will have:

  • A good level of education
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work towards tight deadline
  • Good computer skills, especially within Microsoft Office
  • Strong workload prioritisation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

  • Experience in the use of SAP
  • Knowledge of MRP
  • Adaptability, able to adapt to an ever changing work environment and react positively to changing circumstances
