Are you an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with a background in the construction industry?This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to join a dynamic finance team and contribute to the smooth running of accounts payable operations. If you’re looking for a role where you can apply your skills in invoice and payment processing while developing your expertise in construction accounting, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately log, maintain, and file invoices. Match invoices to purchase and subcontractor labour orders. Support buyers with purchase orders and ensure correct coding.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
  • Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies. Maintain up-to-date supplier details.
  • Reconciliation: Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any outstanding issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end reports. Produce aged creditor reports as needed.
  • General Ledger Support: Assist with month-end closing activities and provide support to the general ledger team.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Education: AAT part-qualified or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounts payable position is essential. Prior experience in the construction sector is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
