Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for a Power Electronics Engineer to join a specialised engineering firm, focusing on the design, manufacture and testing of high-value, low-volume electronic products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage design projects to meet specifications and budget requirements
  • Collaborate with Sales to align technical requirements and capabilities
  • Support Production with technical input to enhance manufacturing and testing efficiency
  • Ensure design compliance with company standards, customer specifications and legislation
  • Generate and approve system-level block diagrams, schematics, and PCB layouts
  • Conduct simulations, component analysis, and data pack generation
  • Develop and validate Acceptance Test Procedures
  • Support production through troubleshooting and debugging
  • Oversee component library management

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Basic power electronics design principles (e.g. DC/DC converters, inverters, or power supplies)
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB layout tools, and basic hardware debugging skills
  • Experience using simulation software like MATLAB, Simulink, or LTSPICE

DESIRABLE (NOT ESSENTIAL)

  • Exposure to GaN or SiC devices in design or testing environments
  • EMC/EMI awareness
  • Experience with tools like SolidWorks or Altium
