Transport Supervisor

£31,500 per annum

Letchworth

Mon – Fri 40hrs per week

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor for a waste management company based in Letchworth. This is temp-perm position with the opportunity to go full time. Our client needs a well-rounded individual who can think on their feet, and work in a fast passed environment. This is a Monday Friday position with start times varying between 06:00 – 14:00 or 08:00 – 17:00

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Ensure all operations are compliant with Health and Safety Standards, Company Policies, Procedures and Waste Management Legislation
  • Effective management of resources and services report any problems to Contract Manager
  • Ensure your team and operations meet targets
  • Conduct daily and weekly audits to ensure all operations meet Health and Safety Standards
  • Maintain work reports and vehicle logs
  • Update employee/ related paper work to include time sheets, holidays, sickness/absence
  • Organisation staff communications, meeting and training
  • Carry out any other such reasonable job related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time

 

Key Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Management or Supervisory qualification
  • Effective Organisational and planning skills
  • Previous experience working in the Waste Industry
  • Experience in quality control
  • Experience in conducting audits
  • IOSH qualification

 

Key Characteristics

  • Previous experience of working with or managing a team.
  • Previous experience of Street Sweeping and/or Refuse Collection (as appropriate).
  • Minimum basic computer skills.
  • LGV Licence (desirable) Digital Tacho Card,  Valid CPC Card (as appropriate).
  • Must be willing to assist on street cleansing / collections as required
