Role: Buyer

Location: Letchworth Garden City

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, bonus

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a driven Buyer to join a fast growing client based in Letchworth Garden City.

Duties of a Buyer:

Actively source electronic components, materials, and suppliers based on the needs of our manufacturing clients.
Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
Maintain and develop relationships with current and new suppliers, ensuring high levels of reliability and customer satisfaction.
Monitor stock levels, reorder components as needed, and proactively manage the procurement process.
Interpret and read technical drawings (approx. 10% of the role) to ensure that the sourced components meet the specifications and requirements of our clients.
Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including placing orders, tracking deliveries, and managing any discrepancies or quality issues.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product innovations, and market pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions

What we would like from you:

Proven experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Officer, or in a similar procurement role, ideally within the electronics or manufacturing sector.
Strong knowledge of sourcing electronic components, materials, and suppliers.
Basic understanding of technical drawings and product specifications.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Proficiency with purchasing and inventory management software.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
