Are you an experienced HR Officer looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced, unionised environment? We are looking for a HR Officer to cover a period of maternity leave on a fixed term basis to provide comprehensive HR support, ensuring the smooth running of employee relations and all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

HR Officer Responsibilities:
  • Managing employee relations, advising managers, and handling HR queries.
  • Overseeing the employee lifecycle- from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Processing starters and leavers, maintaining accurate HR records.
  • Providing HR administrative support and ensuring compliance with employment law.
  • Collaborating with union representatives.
  • Assisting in absence management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
  • Contributing to HR projects and process improvements.
HR Officer Skills:
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a unionised environment.
  • Background in engineering, manufacturing, or similar fast-paced industries.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail.
