Are you an experienced HR Officer looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced, unionised environment? We are looking for a HR Officer to cover a period of maternity leave on a fixed term basis to provide comprehensive HR support, ensuring the smooth running of employee relations and all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
HR Officer Responsibilities:- Managing employee relations, advising managers, and handling HR queries.
- Overseeing the employee lifecycle- from onboarding to offboarding.
- Processing starters and leavers, maintaining accurate HR records.
- Providing HR administrative support and ensuring compliance with employment law.
- Collaborating with union representatives.
- Assisting in absence management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
- Contributing to HR projects and process improvements.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a unionised environment.
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or similar fast-paced industries.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with great attention to detail.
This is a 9-12 month fixed term contract however, due to imminent company growth there is real scope for this role to become a permanent position in the future as the HR function grows with the evolving business needs.
