The Role:
  • Conduct regional site work, with travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Evening and weekend work required (expenses covered).
  • Six-month fixed-term contract with the potential for a permanent role.

Assistant Ecologist Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A degree in ecology or a related field.
  • Fieldwork experience, such as reptile, great crested newt, or bat surveys.
Desirable Skills:

While not essential, the following are highly valued:

  • Holding species licences or working towards them.
  • Experience in ecological report writing.
  • Membership or progress toward membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
