Role Summary:Childrenā€™s Therapy Services is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work with a diverse pediatric caseload. This role involves assessing and treating children (ages 3-teen) with various conditions, including developmental coordination disorder (DCD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, rheumatology issues, and behavioral or neurological challenges. The role includes clinic-based, school, and home visits within the Chorley and South Ribble areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for children with motor coordination difficulties, behavior challenges, rheumatology issues affecting hand function, and neurological/genetic conditions.
  • Use specific standardized assessments, including BOT, DASH, VMI, and Oxford 24/7 postural management, to guide clinical decisions.
  • Engage in triage conversations with families, conduct telephone consultations, and provide signposting to relevant resources.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other care providers to adapt environments and support the childā€™s development and safety.
  • Complete equipment assessments and follow-up reviews as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, particularly with motor coordination, behavioral, and neurological conditions.
  • Proficiency with standardized assessment tools and the ability to adapt interventions based on clinical observations.
  • Excellent communication skills for family consultations and interdisciplinary collaboration.
