Role Summary:Leyland Clinic is looking for a skilled Podiatry Assistant to support the diabetic foot screening program. This role involves conducting risk assessments, providing essential foot care advice, and supporting the podiatry team to improve patient outcomes for diabetic service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diabetic foot screenings, including assessing risk through specific questions, palpating pulses, and testing sensation using a 10g monofilament.
- Identify any changes in foot condition and provide appropriate foot care advice.
- Recognize and prioritize urgent referrals as necessary.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and manage patient data efficiently.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of diabetic foot care practices and screening techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize urgent care needs.
- Competent computer literacy for accurate data entry and referral management.
