Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a fast-paced business in Lincoln. This is a great opportunity to really make a difference in this busy autonomous role. The role of the Financial Controller

  • Keep prepayments and accruals up to date
  • Ensure HODs submit actual and forecasted payroll on time
  • Ensure cost control procedure is followed by HODs
  • Ensure that contracts and relevant documents have been issued to all staff and staff records are up to date
  • Ensure all new starters and leavers are actioned according to set procedures
  • Assist with the pension scheme for all eligible employees
  • Accurately and timely process the monthly payroll
  • Ensure that returns, declarations, and administration are properly handled concerning HMRC, pensions and other relevant bodies
  • Process invoices and staff expenses in the correct accounting period
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements and reconcile with suppliers
  • Prepare and post month end journals
  • Scrutinise P&L and report any discrepancies
  • Day to day running of the accounts office
  • Working in tandem with other departments within the business to ensure timely reporting is available at all times
  • Complete any other reasonable task when requested to do so by management

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller

  • Minimum 3 years of monthly accounts and payroll experience is essential
