We are seeking a meticulous and organised Materials Planner that can plan production for the site's complete product range, covering a two week horizon, so as to meet customer service requirements at the optimum supply chain cost. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials and packaging are available to meet the production plan, with no downtime incurred.

Description
- To generate and communicate effective production plans which meet customer service targets at the optimum cost.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of materials to site to achieve the production plan, including placing purchase orders & scheduling deliveries
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) ensuring that stock is maintained between external and internal warehouses
- Responsible for stock accuracy across the site, including undertaking regular stock checks in line with company procedures
- Resolution of materials invoice queries
- Support the supplier non-conformance process and ensuring any commercial impact is captured and recouped from the supplier
- Support with any NPD projects, including raising new part numbers and updating the systems
- To be highly proficient in the use of all key systems which primarily includes Futurmaster and JDE.
- Maintain the accuracy and validity of the data in the ERP and planning system
- Provide cover for the site Planning & Procurement Manager
Profile
A successful Materials Planner should have:
- Knowledge and experience within planning
- Experience of working with external suppliers
- Experience of purchasing materials and packaging
- Strong problem solving & communication skills
- Good understanding of ERP processes.
- Ability to interrogate data and problem solve
- Good knowledge and use of Excel
- Knowledge of Inventory Management principles
- Continuous improvement and change initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience of using JDE (or a similar system) is desirable but not essential
