The primary focus is to maintain the current control platforms, assist in project conceptual designs, detail engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • To support Manufacturing Manager in pursuing business objectives in terms of output, quality and cost. • To maintain and improve productivity so that production schedules and customer needs are met. • To ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times. Completion of all departmental risk assessments, near miss reports, accident reports, etc. • To ensure that agreed customer delivery times are achieved and that customers receive a high standard of service at all times. • To schedule resources within your team in order to meet production requirements and ensure the organisation of priorities to achieve the plan. • To identify, develop and implement continuous improvement activities with your team. Key AreasDelivery performance• Achievement / adherence of production plans to give 100% performance to customer • Initiate actions to prevent / minimise failure • Ensure performance measurement systems are employed Quality• Take actions to eliminate customer returns • Ensure adherence to quality procedures • Maintain, achieve & improve quality standards • Ensure new / modified parts are introduced successfully Scrap control• Ensure that accurate data is collected • Take immediate actions to minimise non conformance • Analyse and interpret data to identify improvement actions to reduce scrap levels Safety• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and legislation • Ensure safe working practices are employed • Carry out health and safety audits / risk assessments and complete near miss & accident reports • Take necessary actions to improve safety performance • Take actions to ensure any environmental issues are resolved People• Agree team performance criteria and measures to meet business objectives • Ensure people & resources are matched to meet customer requirements • Ensure standards of disciplines are established and maintained (e.g. Absence, lateness etc) • Provides guidance, direction and support • Identify and complete training and development needs to achieve goals and improve skill base • Maintain training information e.g. Matrices • Help to maintain good industrial relations and welfare KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • Experience of leading / supervising a team is desirable • Knowledge of machining, programming and inspection would be advantageous • Experience / ability of planning resources within a manufacturing department • Mathematical skills equivalent to GCSE level • Financial awareness – understanding of operating costs within a department • PC literate – Microsoft office, particularly excel – ability to produce statistical graphs • Experience of data collection and producing reports for management information • Good communication skills both verbal and written Working Hours:• Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm• Friday - 8am to 4pmBenefits• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays• 10% matched pension• 3x annual salary life assurance• Profit related bonus schemePlease note this role will be site based.
