Elevation Recruitment Group is excited to partner with a renowned heavy engineering business in Lincoln to recruit an Operations Director.
As a key member of the Executive Team, the Operations Director will lead operational projects and contracts, ensuring timely escalation of all company orders, maintaining an optimal balance between cost and revenue whilst identifying and addressing critical performance improvement opportunities to ensure the efficient and on-time delivery of business objectives, fully aligned with customer requirements.
Responsibilities of the Operations Director will include:
- Lead and manage operational departments with a focus on performance optimisation and team development
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
- Monitor and optimise job costing, ensuring accurate time tracking and efficient resource allocation
- Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts
- Oversee the successful delivery of large customer support projects
- Conduct regular audits and visits to key suppliers
- Carry out continuous improvement initiatives
We are looking for Operations Directors with the following:
- Proven experience in senior or board-level operations management.
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in management/business or recognised apprenticeship.
- Extensive experience in heavy industry, particularly in managing subcontracted engineering teams.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with technical industry expertise
- An MBA is desirable, though not essential
