The RoleWe are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive the initial stage of the sales process. The successful BDR will identify prospects and initiate first contact, focusing on generating and qualifying leads to expand our sales pipeline. Working within the Commercial team, the BDR will collaborate closely with our Sales & Marketing Lead and specialise in outbound prospecting, using our CRM (HubSpot) as a mutual tool. Responsibilities include researching leads, cold-calling, cold-emailing, contacting prospects on LinkedIn and regular networking.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing sales team; you will play a pivotal role in shaping our ever-evolving sales process, with the freedom to innovate and introduce new approaches to outbound prospecting. Our dynamic, collaborative department is supported by an experienced Commercial Director, who values fresh ideas and encourages professional development. Whilst we operate as a flexible remote business, the Commercial team embraces occasional in-person collaboration, making this an exciting role with opportunities for face-to-face teamwork, complemented by quarterly team-building events and an active focus on wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect Identification: Research potential leads before reaching out.
  • Initial Outreach: Conduct cold calls, emails and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Lead Qualification: Assess interest, needs and potential fit.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales & Marketing, Commercial and appropriate stakeholders across the business.
  • Administration: Track leads and updates in our CRM (HubSpot) system.
  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly develop existing processes and qualification strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Evidenced background in Sales, Lead Generation or Business Development is required.
  • Cold Outreach Skills: Confidence when conducting research, calls, emails and LinkedIn messaging must be evident.
  • Communication: Excellent networking and communication skills are a must.
  • Organisation: Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Self-Driven Attitude: Motivated to uncover and pursue opportunities.
  • Team Player Mindset: In line with our collaborative approach in Sales & Marketing.
  • Innovative: Keen to originate and adopt fresh approaches.
