ABOUT THE CLIENT:Our client is an innovative provider of simulation and training technologies for the Defence sector, delivering high-performance modelling software for complex technical systems. They are expanding their development team to support a growing portfolio of projects, and are now looking to hire a Mid-level Simulation Software Engineer to lead on graphics components across a range of simulation products.

THE SIMULATION GRAPHICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE:You'll design, develop, and support high-performance graphics code within a growing simulation team. Working closely with subject matter experts, you'll become the go-to for all graphics-related features, supporting desktop-based applications built primarily in C++ and C#. You'll also engage in version control, DevOps (GitHub), and contribute to technical decisions on greenfield Defence simulation products.

SIMULATION GRAPHICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Strong experience with a graphics language (e.g. OpenGL, DirectX, WebGL)

  • Solid coding experience in C++ and/or C#

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle

  • Excellent problem-solving attitude and self-motivated

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Must be a UK National and eligible for SC Clearance (5+ years UK residency required)

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering)
