Mechanical Engineer - 1 year FTC

Lisburn, Northern Ireland

£22.49ph (£43,860pa) - weekly pay.

GiPro (part of GiGroup Holding) is proud to partner exclusively with one of the most recognised global renewable energy businesses, who are on a mission to develop cutting-edge monitoring technologies, typically deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing the customer to understand and optimise the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.

Please note that this is a 1-year FTC, presenting the opportunity to be extended.

The role:

  • Assessment of customer technical specifications.
  • Delivery of design work packages ranging from part modification to new part or assembly design.
  • Ensure an accurate bill of materials is produced for each design.
  • Provide hands on support for first article inspections and type testing.
  • Complete administrative tasks relevant to the engineering design process.
  • Participate in project calls to provide progress updates or seek clarifications.
  • Provide occasional support for production and customer related issues within area of expertise.

About you:

  • Mechanical engineering degree, or degree in a similar field.
  • 5+ years performing design activities in an industrial setting.
  • Experienced with interpreting industry standards.
  • Proven history of managing multiple design tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experienced with CAD applications: Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Experienced in electro-mechanical product design is a bonus.
