- A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Proven experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of injection molding, die-casting, or precision machining processes
- Proficiency in CAD software for tooling design (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience with toolroom management, including budgeting and resource allocation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lead and develop a team of tooling engineers and technicians
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Managing the design, manufacture, and maintenance of tooling for production
- Leading a team of tooling engineers and technicians to ensure operational efficiency
- Working closely with design and production teams to optimize tooling performance
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Ensuring tooling meets quality, durability, and performance standards
- Managing tooling budgets, procurement, and supplier relationships
- Overseeing tooling trials, modifications, and troubleshooting issues
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the tooling department
