Location: Liverpool City Centre (Professional Services)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Are you an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant looking to make an impact in a professional services environment? We are recruiting for a Qualified Accountant to join a highly regarded firm in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Group Financial Controller, supporting both management accounting and financial reporting functions across the business.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be proactive, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for all group entities.
  • Posting and reviewing key journals, including intercompany adjustments, accruals, and tax journals.
  • Oversee revenue recognition.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budgets and provide commentary for board reports.
  • Assist in the production of statutory accounts and group consolidations.
  • Preparation of consolidated cash flow statements.
  • Review and prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Support external audits and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering with operational teams.

About You:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Experience in management and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Knowledge of UK VAT and corporation tax reporting requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Organised, adaptable, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
