Financial Controller

Based: Huyton Area, Liverpool

Salary: up to £70k + benefits + future share options + progression to FD in next 12 months

Our exclusive client is a fantastic, growing, well-established manufacturing company based in the Huyton area. With over 60 years experience in their industry they are a supplier of choice for a large number of clients across various industries including construction, infrastructure, utilities and more. With huge value on their employees, they became an EOT 2 years ago and this position can offer progression to FD within 12 months and to become a shareholder/part of the leadership team in the future also.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see progression to Finance Director in a short time frame, sitting as part of a 3 person SLT being fully immersed in the business and working on driving profitability and growth. The business have invested hugely into their current offerings which in turn will facilitate their growth over the next few years

Role:

  • Supporting MD in driving financial performance ensuring targets are met
  • Developing pricing and revenue & gross margin reporting in SAGE
  • Overseeing month end close process, ensuring management accounts pack delivered timely and presented to the board
  • Preparing annual budgets, forecasts and reporting packs
  • Management of capital expenditure budgeting/forecasting process and tracking performance against them
  • Analysis of PPV, margin & customer profitability
  • Developing enhanced management reporting to include departmental spend against forecast & budget and customer/product profitability analysis
  • Responsible for maintaining standard costs and investigating production variances, working with Department Managers to interpret and find solutions
  • Overseeing running of SAGE and MRP ensuring running smoothly and managing all stock takes, stock valuations
  • POC for external auditors, internal finance requests and all 3 rd party relationships
  • Overseeing 1 team member, including training & development

Experience:

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified Accountant
  • Manufacturing experience is highly desirable (standard costing highly desirable)
  • SME experience essential, you MUST have experience in a < £20m turnover business
  • Excellent system skills including Excel
  • A commercial mindset and a hands on attitude, wanting to be involved in more than just finance
