Management Accountant / Liverpool (hybrid) / £45,000 - £50,000 / Full-time, Permanent

We're delighted to be recruiting for an ambitious Management Accountant on behalf of our client who are a rapidly growing, PE backed business in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic finance professional looking to take their career to the next level.

As a Management Accountant, you will play a critical role in the finance team, responsible for producing insightful financial reports, managing budgets, and driving business performance. You will collaborate closely with department heads and senior management to deliver meaningful financial insights that inform key strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate financial planning and analysis.
  • Perform variance analysis, identifying key trends and deviations from budget, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor and manage costs, driving initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with department heads to manage financial performance and assist in achieving business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with year-end reporting and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Continuously improve financial systems and processes to streamline reporting and enhance controls.

Key skills:

  • Fully qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a strong understanding of management accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in management accounts, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
