Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a prestigious organisation in Liverpool who are keen to appoint a Senior Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is a maternity cover contract and you will commence work immediately receiving a thorough handover.
The ideal applicant will be a fully qualified, experienced accountant who has a proven track record producing, accurate financial accounts to deadline. Once up to speed, you will take on several tasks and responsibilities, performing a critical role in the team, providing regular support.
Experience of working in a highly regulated, FCA environment would be of great benefit with knowledge of working towards IFRS 16 standards.
The accountant will be responsible for:
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end processes, financial reporting and analysis.
- Participate in monthly Group Reporting providing detailed summaries for P&L variances.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Inter company
- Fixed asset and lease accounting
- Manage stakeholder relationships and business partner with various non-finance budget holders.
- Assist Tax team with production of VAT and Corporation tax returns.
- Maintain financial controls in accordance with group policies and procedures.
- Provide support for internal and external audits
- Drive best practices and improve internal controls and processes.
- Produce ad hoc financial reporting as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Availability: Must be immediately available to start work and commit to the 12 month term.
Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA).

- Technical accounting skills inline with IFRS
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Adaptable and able to identify and address issues before they arise.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Team player with excellent communication skills, able to engage and influence others.
- Familiar to ERP system such as SAP.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
