Assistant Accountant

Adele Carr Recruitment are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join an established finance team. This role will play a key part in supporting financial operations, including month-end processes, purchase ledger, payroll, and financial reporting. The candidate will have experience in accounts, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. • Assist the Group Finance Manager with month-end processes, including profit and loss reviews and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process payroll journals, prepayments, and accruals, and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Review overhead costs, analysing variances and identifying key trends.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, supporting the finance team with ad hoc reporting requirements.
• Assist in liaising with auditors and supporting the year-end audit process.
• Manage key financial operations, including credit control, purchase ledger, and sales ledger.
• Ensure accurate invoice processing and statement reconciliation
• Maintain compliance with health and safety, company policies, and financial regulations.

Person Specification:

• Experience in accounts, including credit control, purchase ledger, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and high-quality work.
• Good numerical and analytical ability, with experience in financial data analysis.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to business needs.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and financial software.
• AAT qualification (desirable) or equivalent experience.
