Assistant Accountant

Skelmersdale

£35,000 - £40,000

This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing SME that is going through an exciting growth period. Joining a small accounts team and providing crucial support to the companies Finance Director. You will handle daily accounting tasks, prepare reports, and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of this organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Record and reconcile invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Assist in bank reconciliations and financial audits.
  • Maintain ledgers and general journal entries.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns and VAT filings.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Handle petty cash and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in payroll processing and salary reconciliations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Active ACCA/CIMA studier or QBE with 5 plus years experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication for reporting and coordination.
