Assistant Accountant | £35,000 | Liverpool

A rare opportunity has come up in Liverpool city centre for a well known business with a fantastic, globally recognised brand.

As Assistant Accountant, you will support a Financial Controller and support them in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Supporting the day to day finance operations, assist in month end reporting, managing invoice posting and preparing financial reports. Day to day, you will:

Assist in the preparation of management accounts
Post updates to ledgers, journals and bank reconciliations
Assist in audit preparation
Maintain the fixed asset register
Assist the FC with payroll, VAT and various returns when needed
Preparing credit card and petty cash journals to accurately record expenses
Providing support to the wider finance team and business on ad hoc basis

We are looking for:

Experience working in a finance role is essential
AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier will be advantageous
Knowledge of month end and financial accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data and reporting
Strong organisation skills and able to work in a fast paced, changing environment
Excellent work ethic and a willingness to learn
Proactive and self motivated
