Role Overview: Legal CashierThe Legal Cashier will be a vital part of the firm's financial operations, particularly focusing on disbursement management alongside another cashier within a broader team of six legal cashiers. Reporting directly to the Office Team Leader in Liverpool, the role involves managing disbursement invoices, ensuring compliance with firm policies and the Solicitors Accounts Rules.Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Management: Oversee and post disbursement invoices to Chrome River, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and import them into PMS.
  • Reconciliation: Perform data reconciliations, including daily office bank account reconciliations and Counsel VAT reconciliation.
  • Vendor Management: Update systems with new vendor information and handle counsel fee notes.
  • Payment Processing: Manage disbursement payments through online banking systems, ensuring adherence to firm policies.
  • Reporting: Produce various reports, including those for reconciliation purposes, and address queries from the Disbursement Inbox.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Identify opportunities to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of disbursement processes.
  • Training: Assist in training PAs on disbursement processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Familiarity with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in data input and basic Excel.
  • Experience with online banking systems and a background in cashiering.
  • Flexibility and teamwork, with a proactive approach to tasks.
