Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of costs-related matters, servicing departments such as Clinical Negligence, Court of Protection, Civil Liberties, General Litigation, Family, and Immigration.
- Draft detailed and accurate bills of costs, points of dispute, and replies.
- Prepare schedules of costs for negotiations and settlement purposes.
- Liaise with fee earners to provide advice on costs-related matters, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Attend costs assessments and hearings as required.
- Keep abreast of costs law developments and procedural changes to provide accurate advice and draft documents effectively.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal costs role, with a focus on claimant cases.
- Advocacy experience is desirable.
- Proven ability to handle a wide range of costs issues independently.
- Strong knowledge of costs law, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
