An award-winning law firm is seeking an experienced Costs Draftsperson to join their in-house team in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to work across various legal departments, providing expertise on a diverse range of case types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of costs-related matters, servicing departments such as Clinical Negligence, Court of Protection, Civil Liberties, General Litigation, Family, and Immigration.
  • Draft detailed and accurate bills of costs, points of dispute, and replies.
  • Prepare schedules of costs for negotiations and settlement purposes.
  • Liaise with fee earners to provide advice on costs-related matters, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Attend costs assessments and hearings as required.
  • Keep abreast of costs law developments and procedural changes to provide accurate advice and draft documents effectively.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal costs role, with a focus on claimant cases.
  • Advocacy experience is desirable.
  • Proven ability to handle a wide range of costs issues independently.
  • Strong knowledge of costs law, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
