Project Civil Engineer
Location: Liverpool City Centre
Salary: 35,000 - 45,000 plus benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Our client is a forward-thinking, innovative Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional projects. Their Liverpool city centre office offers a dynamic and collaborative working environment, where creativity and technical excellence are encouraged and they are actively seeking a Project Civil Engineer.
The Role
As a Project Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative civil engineering solutions. Reporting directly to the Associate Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of projects, working both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
You will:
Lead and deliver civil engineering projects from concept to completion
Produce high-quality designs for feasibility, planning, costing, and construction purposes, including highways, drainage, street works, and utilities coordination
Design and implement Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), building drainage, and public works solutions
Demonstrate expertise in Section Agreements (S104, S106, S38, S278) and apply industry standards such as Manual for Streets (1-3) and the Highways Act 1980
Oversee and coordinate site investigations, inspections, and problem-solving on technical issues
Manage project resources, including cost control and invoicing
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and technical support
Attend and represent the company at client and design team meetings
Contribute to business development, fee proposals, and marketing activities
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented civil engineer with the technical expertise and leadership skills to thrive in this role. The ideal candidate will have:
Professional Requirements:
Chartered or near-chartered status with ICE and/or CIWEM (support for professional accreditation provided)
Proven experience in civil engineering consultancy, delivering complex projects
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and CDM compliance
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D Drafting, PDS Site Developer/Civil 3D, Flow/Info-Drainage, and other hydraulic design software
Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management tools
Strong understanding of drainage solutions, structural integration, and infrastructure planning
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities
