Working arrangements: 35 hours per week between 8am and 6pm. Hybrid working - you will be required to work in the office a minimum of 6 days per month. 

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is recruiting a Communications Manager to help shape and deliver the RCP's external media and communications campaigns. Working closely with the external affairs and policy & campaigns teams, you will lead impactful initiatives that align with the RCP’s mission of advancing healthcare.

Purpose and scope

Key responsibilities

  • Campaign Coordination: Support and deliver strategic campaigns and projects that raise awareness of RCP’s work and influence health policy.
  • Content Creation: Develop press releases, op-eds, social media posts, and website content to communicate RCP’s work effectively.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media, policymakers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track media mentions, evaluate campaign success, and prepare reports for senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the media and health professionals.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications align with the RCP’s brand and messaging.

About you

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a communications role, preferably within healthcare or a non-profit organisation.
  • Strong skills in social media and digital communications.
  • Experience in delivering successful campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Desirable:

  • A degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare or public health communications.
