About the Company

A well established and ambitious construction contractor in Merseyside are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The business have an impressive pipeline of secured work, working with a variety of public sector organisations to deliver refurbishment, new build and maintenance works, mainly within the residential sector. Having previously replied upon external consultancy services for H&S, the business are now looking to bring this function in house, and require an experienced Advisor or H&S Manager to support them with this. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with a business and eventually grow a team. The team dynamic within this organisation is exceptional, and it's very apparent how much staff are valued by the Directors.

About the Role

In this role as Health and Safety Manager, you will report into the Company MD and will take responsibility for the following;

  • Conducting thorough and systematic inspections of variousconstruction sites on a to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify potential hazards, and verify that work is progressing according to plans and standards.
  • Creatingcomprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks associated with construction activities. Additionally, preparing method statements that provide step-by-step instructions on how to safely and efficiently carry out specific tasks.
  • Making regular visits to construction sites to offer expert advice and support to on-site teams, helping them address challenges, improve safety practices, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into any accidents or incidents that occur on the construction site to determine their causes, identify contributing factors, and develop recommendations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
  • Building and sustaining strong, positive relationships with clients by regularly communicating with them, addressing their concerns, providing updates on project progress, and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
  • You will take a lead in ensuring compliance with all the relevant legislation and regulations, including ISO, CHAS, FIRASaccreditations requirements, etc

What's Required

You are an experienced Health and Safety Manager, or Advisor looking for a step up to this level. Ideally you will have worked within the construction industry previously and already hold your NEBOSH qualification.
