Early Years TeachingAssistant

Milk Education is seeking a passionate, motivated, and dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join a partner, vibrant primary school in Anfield, Liverpool. This role is to start after February half-term 2025.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting young children’s learning and development, ensuring they receive the best possible start to their educational journey.

Qualifications are not essential however, experience with EYFS/KS1 aged children is a must.

Early Years TeachingAssistant roles & responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of resources and activities tailored to the EYFS curriculum.
  • Provide individual or small group support to children with their learning, promoting active participation and building confidence.
  • Deliver small group Phonics interventions
  • Support children with their personal and social development, including encouraging good behaviour and positive interactions.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, working closely with the teacher to identify areas for development.
  • Support children with SEN, sometimes on a 1:1 basis
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children.

The Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience in an EYFS or primary school setting is desirable, but not essential. (Private Day Nursery experience will also be considered)
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Childcare reference dated within the last 2 years
