Job Description: As a Makaton Trained Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students with communication needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting classroom teachers in delivering tailored support to students.

• Utilising Makaton signing to facilitate communication and enhance learning experiences.

• Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with specific communication needs.

• Supporting the development of student's social and emotional skills.

• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with Makaton training.

• Strong understanding of Makaton signing and its practical application in an educational setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
