Butler Rose are pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading independent accountancy practices with offices throughout the UK.

This fantastic firm are looking to recruit a professional, enthusiastic and flexible candidate to join their Liverpool City Centre office, working as an Accounts Manager.

The role is full-time, although part-time may be considered for the right individual. For the right candidate, there is potential progression into a Director position.

The Role:

  • Supporting the current Directors in the management of their clients
  • Producing reliable sets of detailed accounts
  • Assisting Directors in more technical sets of accounts when necessary
  • Managing/Training Junior staff
  • Dealing with clients in an advisory capacity as and when required
  • Speaking to potential new clients, from leads generated by the firm's marketing initiatives and client recommendations, with a view to securing their custom.

The Ideal candidate:

  • Qualified - ACA or ACCA.
  • Efficient management of a portfolio of clients with responsibility for accounting and corporation tax compliance matters including filings at Companies House and HMRC.
  • Ability to deal with Value Added Tax matters, including the preparation of quarterly returns, registrations and filings.
  • Excellent people skills with both clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Confidence of working with computer software packages, Word, Excel and Email is vital as much of our work is automated.
  • Experience in using the IRIS and Digita suites of accounting and tax software would be an advantage.
  • Experience of FreeAgent and Xero cloud bookkeeping software would be an advantage.
