We’re recruiting for an Audit Assistant Manager to join a well-established accountancy practice based in Liverpool.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified (or nearly qualified) ACA/ACCA auditor with strong practice experience who’s ready to lead audit engagements, manage client relationships, and help develop a growing team.

You’ll be managing a wide range of client engagements from planning through to final sign-off, playing a key role in the delivery of high-quality audit and accounts work across a diverse client base.

If you're a strong communicator, confident in reviewing complex risk areas, and enjoy building relationships, this role offers the scope and autonomy to thrive.

Role Responsibilities
  • Leading on-site audit fieldwork and managing end-to-end audit processes
  • Liaising directly with client staff and building trusted relationships
  • Managing reporting deadlines, budgets, and work in progress (WIP)
  • Prioritising tasks to handle high-risk and time-sensitive areas effectively
  • Attending and contributing to client planning and close meetings
  • Supporting junior team members with technical queries and development
  • Reviewing financial statements and producing management letters
  • Playing an active role in internal and external networking and knowledge sharing

Candidate Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist)
  • Proven audit experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Solid knowledge of audit systems, accounting software, and ideally CCH
  • Confident communicator with great attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to help others grow
