As Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis within our client's fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your key responsibilities will include budget forecasting, managing cost controls, and providing actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Description

A Finance Manager duties include:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop annual budgets, forecast future financial performance, and analyse trends to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control production and operational costs to ensure profitability and efficiency, particularly focusing on cost-saving initiatives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the budget preparation process, track performance against the budget, and adjust forecasts as needed based on changing conditions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, reports, and performance analysis for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
  • Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee the valuation of inventory and fixed assets, and implement policies to optimise inventory turnover and reduce obsolescence costs.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with departments like procurement, production, and sales to align financial objectives and support operational goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop finance team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and resources to support the organisation's financial strategy.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimisation within finance and accounting functions, implementing solutions to streamline workflows.

Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Finance: The candidate should have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and inventory management, ideally gained through experience in a similar role.
  • Strong Financial Acumen: They will have a proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: A successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, using data-driven analysis to support cost-saving initiatives, financial planning, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing a finance team or collaborating across departments will be essential, as they will lead financial operations and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent Communication: They should be able to clearly convey financial insights and recommendations to both finance and non-finance personnel, fostering cross-departmental collaboration and alignment.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be comfortable adapting to shifting priorities, leveraging their skills to support continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications: Ideally, they will hold a degree in finance or accounting and be studying towards becoming a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with several years of relevant experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector
