An established construction consultancy is seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Clerk of Works to join their collaborative and supportive team in the heart of Liverpool.

This family-focused consultancy consists of a close-knit team of 20 professionals, specialising in residential developments, including apartments, houses, extra care facilities, and bungalows. Renowned for their strong partnerships with housing associations across the Northwest, they take pride in fostering a welcoming and transparent work environment.

The Clerk of Works Role

The successful Clerk of Works will:

  • Review Employers' Requirements, Contractors' Proposals, Contract Programmes, drawings, and specifications to ensure projects meet high-quality standards.
  • Monitor compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, Planning Approvals, and NHBC/Premier requirements.
  • Produce detailed weekly reports on progress and quality, highlighting any issues and necessary remedial actions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee project progress and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Participate in Site Progress Meetings, reviewing sample panels, mock-ups, and service installations.
  • Manage the snagging and defect resolution process, ensuring issues are recorded, reported, and addressed efficiently.
The Clerk of Works

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with project teams.
  • Have a thorough understanding of construction methods, regulations, and JCT contracts.
  • Bring extensive experience as a Clerk of Works on new-build residential projects, ideally with Housing Association clients.
  • Be a member of ICWCI, CIOB, or an equivalent professional body.
