They will support the implementation of HR initiatives, ensure consistent application of HR practices, and contribute to creating a positive workplace culture

They offer a range of services, including property management, repairs, and community engagement projects aimed at fostering sustainable and inclusive environments. Their focus is on improving the quality of life for tenants, promoting community cohesion, and supporting local regeneration initiatives.

Description

The People Advisor will report into the HR & OD Manager and Head of People, playing an integral role in providing an effective HR service to the broader business. Alongside the day to day operational elements of supporting your directorate, you will also have the opportunity to support on a number of people projects across the organisation.

The People Advisor will;

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organisation to contribute towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Proactively provide advice, support, and coaching to line managers on all employee relations matters, ensuring smooth processes and positive resolutions for staff.
  • Maintain a comprehensive case management system, ensuring accurate records and reporting as needed.
  • Offer guidance to line managers in accordance with employment law and best practices, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Advise on sickness absence management, tailoring support to individual cases within the framework of attendance management policies, and liaise with Occupational Health as necessary.
  • Analyse and report data to the Head of People, identifying trends and creating action plans for improvement.
  • Support staff development by identifying training needs and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of workshops and training programs to ensure line managers are well-equipped for their roles.
  • Advise and support line managers through the recruitment and selection process, ensuring consistency and a positive candidate experience.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in offer letters and contracts of employment, including pre-employment checks, within assigned directorates.
  • Lead probationary processes for new starters, ensuring objectives are set and constructive feedback is provided.
  • Plan and oversee onboarding processes, including participation in corporate induction and ensuring managers deliver comprehensive team and role-specific inductions.
  • Manage the exit process for staff within your designated areas.
  • Research, update, and develop People policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current legislation and best practices.
  • Take ownership of specific HR projects and workstreams, collaborating with HR leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support HR leadership in developing leaders and managers through programs focused on talent management, employee engagement, performance, and reward.
  • Ensure sensitive and personal information is handled in compliance with GDPR and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety by adhering to relevant rules and completing mandatory training.
