Hays Health and Safety are proud to be supporting a forward-thinking and environmentally conscious waste recovery organisation based in Liverpool.As this company continues its dedication to Health & Safety, they are seeking a collaborative Regional SHEQ Manager to lead Health & Safety across multiple sites. This role is perfect for a diligent and driven Health & Safety professional who is seeking the next step in their career.You will have prior experience in a multi-site role and be willing to travel regularly across northern England and Scotland.You will be expected to lead and develop a strong safety culture and work with the existing SHEQ team to support the organisation on their journey to zero accidents.Your new roleReporting to the Regional SHEQ Director, you will:

  • Ensure all quality standards are met (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and develop and implement current management systems to achieve this.
  • Spearhead an improvement in Health & Safety culture by being present and available on site.
  • Deliver Health & Safety training to site teams.
  • Complete regular audits and implement preventative measures.
  • Conduct accident investigations and provide clear and proactive action.
  • Liaise with external bodies and follow up on external audits.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will be willing and able to travel to a variety of locations across the UK and plan your workload effectively, taking personal ownership of Health & Safety with experience in a similar multi-site role.You will ideally have experience in a waste and/or logistics setting, be a member of IOSH and hold or be working towards a NEBOSH Diploma or similar with knowledge of environmental systems and all legislative requirements.You will have a collaborative attitude to Health & Safety and focus on the education of key stakeholders and have a passion for keeping the workforce safe.What's on offerA competitive salary is on offer for the right candidate alongside a car allowance and all travel expenses alongside other benefits.Personal development - 80% of the managers in the organisation have been promoted internally!
