Do you have a good knowledge of Health & safety and have excellent maintenance skills Looking to work immediately As a caretaker in a school, you will hold a enhanced DBS for clearance and be someone that has previously worked in a maintenance role, caretaking premises and ensuring all areas are clean, safe and well maintained. You will be flexible and good with people, whilst having experience in being able to support schools/businesses for any low-level maintenance on site.As a school caretaker you will be able to demonstrate previous hands-on experience in the education sector, and have worked with schools, colleges, or universities to support their facilities function. This role is based in Kensington - Liverpool working Monday to Friday Is this you?* Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes building and grounds;* Carrying out cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment, and minor repairs;* Promoting health and safety around the schools* Carry out porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment around the school* Maintain the general school premises, furniture and fittings, and reporting any issues to the Head Teacher* Carry out small repairs and DIY projects* Carry out daily cleaning and ad-hoc duties, such as litter picking and arranging the disposal of waste* Carry out emergency cleaning duties, such as gritting and cleaning up spillages* Take responsibility of the maintenance of cleaning tools and products, including arranging replacements and ensuring good You will also have an active part in: * Maintain the security of the school premises as the main key holder* Lock and unlock the premises as required, including out of schools hours when necessary* Check at the end of the school day that all windows, doors and gates are locked, lights switched off, and gas and electrical appliances are turned off* Provide safe access to the school's in cold weather conditionsWe are looking for candidates who hold the following - as this role will involve using your own initiative at times and having a good eye for detail * Previous caretaking experience within a school environment* Previous experience of building maintenance* Previous experience of security including alarm systems* Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations* Basic DIY SkillsAs there will be some interaction with students , the successful candidate will be required to pass an enhanced DBS Check. You will hold a friendly and welcoming disposition and be comfortable liaising with staff and children
