Meridian Business support is working on behalf of a state-of-the-art college based in the Merseysidearea. They requirean experienced Deputy Head of School for their Maths department, to teach stimulating, interesting classes totheir students and to join their new leadership team.

Hours:36hours per week, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Salary:38,500 - 40,998 per annum

In the role of Deputy Head of School, you will be based across their Merseysidecampus

The role comes with annual teaching hours of 648. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach Maths programmes to young people and adults.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • A Degree in a relevant subject area of Maths
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Have taught Maths to A Level
  • Teaching experience within the FE or Secondary School Sector
  • Experience of leadership and staff management.
  • Evidence of supporting a team to achieve results.
  • A proven record of demonstrating excellence in teaching.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
  • Support the Head ofMaths and ProfessionalPrograms in the strategic planning and day-to-day management of the department.
  • Lead on specific projects or initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to teaching and learning activities, and lead on the development and review of the curriculum in line with industry trends and academic standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes, including course evaluations, staff appraisals, and accreditation requirements.
  • Assist in managing academic and support staff, including recruitment, development, and performance management.
  • Ensure a high-quality learning experience for students, addressing any issues related to student satisfaction, progression, and achievement.
  • Oversee the allocation and utilisation of departmental resources, including budget management and infrastructure development.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employers, professional bodies, and academic partners.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • A Degree in Maths
  • A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Proven track record of teachingMaths either in secondary school or Further education
  • Experience in leadership and staff management.
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills gained in a school or college, or another educational institute.
  • Have planned and deliveredMaths lessons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to enhancing the student learning experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and decision-making based on best practices.
