Role Overview: We are seeking passionate and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistants to work within our PRU. The ideal candidates will have a background in residential care, youth work, or care work and a strong desire to support students with SEMH needs. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing academic and emotional support to our students, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies and social skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging and relevant lessons.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in residential care, youth work, or care work.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
